By viewing, accessing and/or using Njord Market in any way, including without limitation any form of data transfer, you agree to and are bound by the Terms and Conditions described in this document ("Terms and Conditions") and associated Privacy Policy ("Privacy Policy") and Cookie Policy ("Cookie Policy").

IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CONTAINED IN THE "TERMS AND CONDITIONS" AND OR ASSOCIATED PRIVACY POLICY DETAILED IN THE "PRIVACY POLICY" AND COOKIE POLICY DETAILED IN THE "COOKIE POLICY", DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE IN ANY MANNER.

The "Terms and Conditions" are entered into by and between the Njord Market administrators and you. If you are using Njord Market on behalf of your employer, you represent that you are authorised to accept these "Terms and Conditions" on your employer's behalf. Njord Market administrators reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to change, modify, update, add or remove portions of the "Terms and Conditions" at any time without notice. Please check the "Terms and Conditions" for changes. Your continued use of Njord Market in any form following changes to the "Terms and Conditions" will mean you accept those changes.

  1. You agree, through your use of the Njord Market website, that you will not submit (or hyperlink to) any material or use language which is defamatory, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, inciting of violence, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or in violation of ANY UK law. Personal attacks, inflammatory language, harassment, impersonation, trolling and sockpuppeting (multiple user accounts), or multi-account use (two or more individuals using same account) will not be tolerated.
  2. Spam, flooding or any commercial advertising not placed in relevant categories are considered inappropriate. Such content may be removed without notice and the perpetrators account terminated.
  3. You agree not to create a database (electronic or otherwise) that includes material downloaded or otherwise obtained from Njord Market.
  4. You agree not to submit any copyright material unless the copyright is owned by you, or you have consent from the copyright owner.
  5. The copyright of content presented on the Njord Market website remains the property of the author or copyright holder. By submitting content to Njord Market the author grants Njord Market a non exclusive perpetual republishing right.
  6. Note that it is impossible for the Njord Market administrators to confirm the validity of content on Njord Market. The content submitted to Njord Market expresses the views of the author, not the views of the Njord Market administrators, and the Njord Market administrators are not responsible for the content, accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information presented.

  • Any agreements entered into and by parties using Njord Market facilities do so entirely at their own risk and through their own volition. Njord Market administrators and moderators will not mediate any disputes arising through the use or of this facility.
  • Njord Market administrators and moderators are not responsible for the accuracy of anything presented via Njord Market's non exclusive perpetual republishing right granted by authors submitting content to Njord Market
  • Sellers may not advertise, and are liable for, items which breach any laws, including counterfeit items or items which otherwise infringe the copyright, trade mark or other rights of third parties
  • Please be aware that other Njord Market community members may ask questions about your advertisements through either the Private Messaging system and or contact details you might provide
  • Contact details are provided at your own risk. If in doubt, use the Njord Market Private Message system
  • Public advertisements contravening any point detailed in the Njord Market Terms and Conditions and or Privacy Policy and or otherwise may be removed at any time without notice. If your advert is removed you can challenge that decision through our contact form and it will be looked at again

Prohibited content and moderation

The following are not allowed on Njord Market, whether in an advert, a profile or a private message:

  • items which are illegal to own, sell or send, and anything else which breaks UK law
  • scams, fraud, and adverts written to mislead a buyer
  • harassment, threats, hate and abuse directed at another person
  • anything which endangers a child, including sexual content involving a child
  • adverts which breach animal welfare law, or which offer an animal in a way likely to cause it harm
  • impersonating another person or business, and posting someone else's private information without their consent

Any signed-in member can report an advert or a profile using the Report button on it, and anyone without an account can reach us through the contact form. Reports are reviewed by the Njord Market administrators, who may leave the content alone, hide the advert from the site, or remove the account behind it. We never tell the person reported who reported them.

If your advert is removed and you believe that was the wrong decision, sign in and challenge it through our contact form. It reaches us as an ordinary conversation in Messages, the advert will be looked at again, and adverts removed in error are put back.

This Privacy Policy sets out how we, Njord Market, obtain, store and use your Personal Data: personal information as you interact with and or use our website, Njord Market (our website), or where we otherwise obtain or collect your Personal Data. Through interacting with and using our website, you agree to the use and treatment of your Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Personal Data is required to be provided to us by our users in order that we may provide service. Among the types of Personal Data that our website collects, by itself or through third parties, there are: Usage Data and Cookies: covered in our Cookie Policy.

Personal Data information we collect about you may include information such as:

  • your business and or personal email address;
  • your business and or personal postal address;
  • your business and or personal phone number;
  • usage data (technical information) about your computer (e.g. your IP address and browser type);
  • usage data (aggregated analytical information) about how you have interacted and or used our website (e.g. which pages have been viewed, the time and duration viewed, and what was clicked on);

Our website requires a valid email address for registration and administrative contact purposes. Your email address is used by the Njord Market administrators for administrative purposes only and is not visible to the public unless a user chooses otherwise. Users can add further information to their publicly viewable profile, but do so at their own risk.

Any additional details: your business and or personal name; your business and or personal postal address; your business and or personal phone number; supplied through our website; such as details entered into the classfieds section and or elsewhere are done so purely through the volition of you as a user of our website and are in no means required by our website to function or provide a service. Due to the nature of our website these details are captured and stored by our website and are as such covered by this Privacy Policy.

It should be noted that NO credit card / debit card / or other identifiable payment details passes through our servers, and no record of any credit card / debit card / or other identifiable payment details are held on our servers. Njord Market does not currently take payment of any kind, and no payment provider is used. Records of invoices raised on the previous version of our website are retained for accounting purposes; these hold the amount, the date and a transaction reference, and no card details.

If you contact us through our contact form, we store the email address you give us, the username you tell us you are trying to reach, what you write to us, and a description of the browser you are using so that we can work out what has gone wrong. We use your email address to send you a link to the conversation, which takes place on our website rather than by email. We do not store the address of the computer or phone you used. You do not need an account to contact us, and if you do not have one we hold nothing about you beyond what is described in this paragraph.

If you report an advert or a member, we store who you are, who and what you reported, the reason you chose, and anything you write in support of it. Reports are seen only by the site administrators and are never shown to the person you report, including in any request they make for the information we hold about them. Resolved reports are deleted twelve months after they are dealt with. If an advert is removed, a note of when, by whom and why is kept with it.

How long do we store your Personal Data

Njord Market will store your information for no longer than necessary, taking into account the following:

  • the purpose(s) for which we are processing your Personal Data, such as whether it is necessary to continue to store that information in order to continue to perform our obligations under a contract with you or for our legitimate interests;

Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). Google utilises any data collected to track and examine the use of our website, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services. The data collected includes an identifier which is unique to your browser, and is not aggregated at the point of collection.

our website embeds a Google map on those of our classifieds property listings where the advertiser has supplied a postcode. That postcode is sent to Google in order to draw the map, along with your IP address and browser details. Through using our Maps implementation you agree to and are bound by Google Maps Terms of Service.

Advertising

Our website utilises Google Adsense advertising and their associated partners as a means to collect revenue to further enable our continued hosting and development costs.

Notifications

Browser push notifications (Google LLC, Mozilla Corporation, Apple Inc.)

Where you choose to turn them on, our website can send notifications to your browser to tell you that you have received a private message, or that a new advertisement has appeared in a category you have chosen to watch. We do not send advertising or marketing by this method.

Notifications are switched on by you, on each device separately, from your personal account settings page, and your browser will ask your permission before any are sent. You can switch them off again from the same page, which removes the record of that device from our servers, or through your browser's own site settings.

Delivery is handled by the maker of your browser rather than by us: Google for Chrome and Edge, Mozilla for Firefox, and Apple for Safari. We cannot choose which of these is used; that follows from the browser you are using. The contents of the notification are encrypted so that only your browser can read them, but the delivery service will see that a message has been sent to your device, and when.

Personal Data collected: a unique address for your browser, the keys used to encrypt notifications to it, and a description of the device (for example "Chrome on Android") so you can tell your devices apart in the list.

Brevo (Sendinblue SAS)

We use Brevo to send the emails our website needs to send: address verification, password reset, and notification that you have received a private message or that a new advertisement matches a category you watch. We do not send marketing email.

Amazon Web Services (Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL) and bunny.net (BunnyWay d.o.o.)

Photographs uploaded to advertisements are stored by Amazon Web Services and delivered to visitors through bunny.net, which keeps copies close to the people viewing them so that pages load quickly. Photographs on an advertisement are public, and are visible to anyone viewing our website.

Photographs are resized by your own browser before they are uploaded, and any information your camera may have recorded in the file, such as the location the photograph was taken and the make and model of the device, is removed at that point.

Personal Data collected: the photograph itself, and the IP address and browser details of anyone requesting it.

Consequences of not providing your Personal Data to us

Where you wish to purchase products or services from us, we require your Personal Data in order to enter into a contract with you. We may also require your Personal Data pursuant to a statutory obligation (in order to be able to send you an invoice for products and services you wish to order from us, for example).

If you do not provide your Personal Data, we will not be able to enter into a contract with you or to provide you with those products or services.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We may change our Privacy Policy from time to time without providing prior notice to you. If required by law, we will make such changes to our Privacy Policy known to you by posting a notice on the website and/or by us posting an updated version of our Privacy Policy on our website with a new effective date stated at the beginning of it.
